Brandon grew up on the west side of Cleveland, graduating from John Marshall High School. He was raised by a single mother who wanted to afford every opportunity that she could to him ensuring that he had a bright future. Because resources were slim, Brandon and his mother relied on a village of support.
Reflecting back on all of the men and women that contributed to his rearing, Brandon felt compelled to do the same for youth in Cleveland. He knows that love, mentoring, and support goes a long way and can help change the path of child.

In 2007, Brandon was working at a Cleveland Recreation Center. As a young black male in this space, many of the young people recognized his caring nature and gravitated to him for support. He welcomed his role as a nurturer and mentor with open arms. He hosted holiday parties, created a sponsorship program for students going to prom, and provided college assistance.
In 2010, he was pushed to expand his purpose when a young person inquired about a picture hanging in office. The picture was of the Washington Monument, in the nation's capitol. Brandon began to think of ways to take a group of kids to Washington DC to experience the historical site firsthand...and at that moment, Brandnew Youth Mentoring was officially born.
In the 10 plus years that Brandon has been in this space, he has facilitated 10 trips to Washington DC, 10 trips to the Charles Wright African American History Museum, a dozen holiday parties, college tours, and trips to historical sites down south.
In 2021 Brandnew finally finished and opened up the Safe House located in the cities Union Miles neighborhood .
