BrandNew Youth was founded on a simple belief: that every young person, regardless of background, deserves a champion in their corner.
Our Story
How It Started
In 2010, founder Darnell Washington started BrandNew Youth out of a church basement in the heart of the community with just 12 youth and a handful of volunteers. He had seen too many young people fall through the cracks — not for lack of potential, but for lack of connection.
Today, BrandNew Youth serves over 1,200 young people annually across 8 communities, with a team of 350+ trained mentors and a proven model that transforms lives. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a regional force for youth empowerment.
